One of My Favorite & Ultra Affordable Organic Brands: Rainwater Botanicals
For a lot of people, the mere thought of organic skincare seems unattainable and expensive, but I promise you it doesn’t have to be!
A few years ago, I was searching high and low online to find the best organic skincare companies. After finding the amazing craft website, Etsy, I found Rainwater Botanicals and I was so thrilled to find an amazing skincare company with great ethics, high quality organic ingredients and products I could definitely afford that are both aesthetically pleasing, conscientious and show results to boot.
About Rainwater Botanicals
Based in beautiful Pacific Beach, Washington, Rainwater Botanicals make a wide array of items for every skin type, skin concern and need in mind. AND, if you can’t find what you’re looking for in shop, just shoot the incredible founder Sara a message through Etsy and she can make a recommendation. In business since 1999, this lady knows what she is talking about.
Here Are A Few of My Favorite Things from Rainwater Botanicals:
Intensive Skin Repair Serum for Scars, Wrinkles & Acne ; $10
This is one of the very first products that I tried from this brand and I still love it to this day! It smells amazing, though I am not sure what’s in it. It calms redness, acne breakouts and moisturizes the skin without being overly oily or greasy.
Troubled Skin Serum with Frankincense and Tamanu ; $15
I recently tried this serum to help combat breakouts. It works SO well against breakouts and feels really light and fresh. It smells delicious, of course, and even though it’s a serum, it feels more like a light and airy cream. It is not heavy at all. It leaves your skin matte, but not dry after use. I even got my brother hooked onto this!
Sea Buckthorn and Pomegranate Intensive Serum ; $10
So, this serum is more or less for people older than me, but I wanted to try it because I am wrinkle paranoid (or delusional depending on who you ask). I really like the way this smells as well, but my favorite part of this serum is the fact that it gives me an awesome faux glow. I think it must be due to the pomegranate oil that gives this serum an orangey color, but when I wear it , it makes me look like my skin is glowing with no makeup or anything. AND if I wear it to bed, I have a REAL glow in the morning.
Lavender Vanilla Aluminum Free Deodorant ; $7.50
I had been searching for an aluminum free deodorant for awhile and this works great. It doesn’t block natural perspiration, but it does control body odor pretty well. The Lavender Vanilla smells great and so does the Patchouli Citrus, though it is a more masculine scent (my boyfriend uses the Patchouli Citrus).
I actually like the formula for this deodorant. It moisturizes and prevents that hideous discoloration and dryness that your under arms tend to get over time. The only downside to this is that it melts easily in summer so you end up having to spread it with your hand a bit when you wear it to get even coverage. It works without any issues in winter or cooler climates.
Herbal Healing Salve for Natural Healing ; $4.50
I was so accidentally in love with this salve (you like that? 😉 ) because I ended up getting it as a free sample with an order and loved it so much that I have re-ordered like 3 more times since then. It comes in 3 sizes. The smallest one (seen above) is great to keep in your purse for small cuts, bruises or even acne breakouts!
I discovered the last one because I like to experiment in a “Let’s see what this does!” sort of way sometimes to horrific results, but this was GREAT. I used the convenient chapstick type applicator to rub over breakouts and it works like a kind of liquid bandage, protecting the breakout and helping it heal.
Moisturizing Coconut and Dead Sea Salt Spray For Hair ; $9
This is one of the more recent purchases I have made from Rainwater Botanicals. Like everything else made by my skin care fairy godmother, Sara, this is nonetheless amazing than everything else she makes! You can get this in a variety of different scents or opt for the unscented version.
My favorite is the coconut scent. Not only does it smell delicious, but it works just as well if not better than all of those “beach waves” “sea spray beach” type products from more expensive brands. After showering, I like to use this on my ends as a detangler first and then I put my hair in a top bun and spray the bun lightly.
After an hour or two, Iet my hair down to some really natural looking and beautiful wavy curls. If your hair is curly wavy like mine is, you may even experience some little curl locks! It is such a lovely effect.
