A Beauty Review: My First Ever Wantable September Makeup Subscription Box!

I was so lucky recently to be sent a complimentary Wantable Beauty Box for review and I have to say, out of all of the subscription services I’ve tried, this is absolutely the most promising one! Unlike many other beauty subscription boxes, Wantable offers 4-6 full sized products based on your pre-selected preferences and allows your box to be customized based on your beauty taste. You can opt out of receiving mascaras if you hate them or say you love eye shadows to increase the likelihood of receiving one in your box each month so it’s a much more personalized box.

All of their subscription boxes are curated to suit your personal taste and personality and all the products you receive are full size ones, though you may additionally receive a few samples along with the main full sized ones. When you first sign up with Wantable, they have you take a survey on all of the products you like and dislike to determine which products you will enjoy the most and after receiving my first box, I can say they were pretty much right on target!

♥ Here’s What I Got ♥

All Full Sized Products! I actually can’t believe I was sent a Japonesque Angled Foundation Brush because their brushes are so pricey so I was naturally thrilled! I was also sent a LAQA & CO. Nail Polish in “Chubs” which is a bronzey gold color (see below), Michael Marcus Mascara in Black, 2 cream eyeshadow sample pots from Lise Watier, and a beautiful and long lasting true red lipstick from Manna Kadar called “Russian.”

Value of Everything I Received:

  • Japonesque Angled Foundation Brush – $25
  • LAQA & CO. Nail Polish in “Chubs” – $11
  • Manna Kadar Lipstick in “Russian” – $21
  • Michael Marcus Mascara in Black – $24
  • Lise Watier Cream Eye Shadow Samples in “Sunrise Peach” & “Vert Enchanté”- $5

{ Try to ignore the fact that I’m horrible at nail painting LOL }

My favorite products were probably the foundation brush, the cream eyeshadow samples and the true red lipstick which was so long lasting and pigmented I couldn’t believe it, but in truth, everything was great. Despite the fact that I had never heard of Michael Marcus before, his mascara was really nice, if not a little to basic for my tastes. The lipstick in “Russian” was that true red color we all dream of; it doesn’t go on too pink or too dark; it just looks amazingly bright red and it stays on for hours! The LAQA & CO. polish lasted well over a week on my nails, was opaque and pigmented after one coat, and is happily DBP, Toluene, and Formaldehyde FREE! The cream eyeshadow samples from Lisa Watier were silky and creamy, but not oily or overly hydrating. They just went on like satin over my lids. They were also super pigmented, but admittedly more transparent than I thought they’d be. That might be different if I’d used an eyeshadow primer, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Overall, this subscription box is well worth it’s cost of $36 per month or $40 for a one-off box purchase and you are guaranteed to receive 4-6 full sized products based on your pre-selected preferences. Out of all of the beauty boxes I’ve tried in the past, this one is probably the only one to really reach and surpass my expectations.

Aside from a makeup box, they also offer monthly subscription boxes for Accessories and Intimates as well as a special Limited Edition Halloween box for the month of October which looks amazing! I’m so tempted to opt in for this box monthly and I might actually opt-in for their Intimates box as well because who doesn’t love socks every month? I know I do :]
