I’m so excited for the weather to finally cool down and, with it, comes cozy fashion pieces, muted tones and shades, and soft textures. Fall fashion has a ton of versatility and while it doesn’t have as much color as Spring and Summer, it makes up for it with soft textures, tons of accessories, and pops of color here and there.
Although I’m not the most esteemed fashionista around, I like to think I have some cute styles to rock in the fall and winter seasons and I thought I’d share some of my favorite must-have pieces for fall fashion ♥
7 Must-Have Items For Fall Fashion
Furry/Wooly Lined Leggings
I absolutely love fleece lined leggings in the fall and winter season. They’re just warm enough to keep me toasty without being overbearing or making me overheat. I love that they’re leggings which means they’re super comfortable and the fleece lining means they’re super soft as well.
While it’s pretty cold in the fall and winter, it doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice fashion to stay warm. I love rocking colorful tights with my favorite pair of velvet shorts or leather skater skirt. It’s warmer than just wearing shorts or a skirt alone and the pop of color make outfits look more fun and unique.
You may remember a post I did last year about my velvet obsession and that’s still going pretty strong! Velvet is just so pretty, feminine and plus – it’s warm! I love all of the ways you can rock velvet – dresses, leggings, boots, slip on flats, shorts, skirts and even jackets! I just think it makes outfits look more polished and romantic which is perfect for the colder months.
Knee high or over-the-knee boots are great for keeping your legs warm when its cold out, but they also look great as well! Paired with a velvet skirt or shorts or some jeans or slacks, boots are the perfect fashion staple that are both fashionable and functional.
Sweaters are the best for keeping warm around the house and when you’re out and about, but still want to look decent. I love the ones with especially long sleeves so they can double up as hand warmers, if needed. My favorite sweaters are probably the knitwear and cashmere kind as they tend to be the softest and the warmest.
Warm Coats and Jackets
These are a given, of course, but they’re worth a mention since you’ll, inevitably, be wearing them all the time during the colder months. Make sure you have a decent number of jackets and coats so you can mix it up a bit with your style. I know some people might shy away from having brightly colored coats, but they are great for making everyday outfits pop a bit more. Also, if you prefer not to spend too much on many coats, you can use the one(s) you already have and change up it’s appearance by layering it with various scarves and other accessories which will change the entire look without costing you too much.
Chic Leather Gloves
Gloves are great for keeping your hands warm and toasty and with all of the different styles out there, there’s something to suit everyone’s tastes. For me, personally, I prefer leather gloves as they look really sleek and pretty while still allowing me to be functional in them (unlike mittens!) as well as giving outfits an edgier, more chic look.
