7 High End Makeup Products Worth Every Penny!

I previously did a post on my top 10 Luxury Beauty Products That Are Worth Every Penny and since that post was so popular, I’ve decided to do a second edition of that post and share some of my favorite high end makeup products that are pretty pricey, but seriously worth the investment. I hope this helps you guys out when you’re looking for great beauty products that work well and have value for that expensive price tag so that when you do splurge, it’s worth it’s weight in dollars and product delivering the results you really want.

Dolce & Gabbana Classic Cream Lipstick in Devil – $33 – This lipstick is something I actually received in a D&G fragrance gift set for Christmas, but I am so happy I got it because this red is like the TRUEST color of that Classic Pinup Red color that we’re all searching for, I think. For anyone who loves that classic red lip look – this is seriously perfect. It says that it’s a red-orange on Sephora, but to be honest, I see it more of a blue true red color on my lips. I’ve worn orange reds and this is not that. Instead, it’s this incredible balance between creamy and matte true red seriously pigmented color that LASTS. I mean, it lasts all. day. long. I wore it Christmas morning to visit my dad and it lasted the entire 7-8 hours that I was there. And I get massive compliments on it every time I wear it. It smells amazing and the packaging is super luxe and pretty in a classic makeup sort of way. The only thing I will say is that you really have to line your lips properly and trace around your lips with concealer or foundation to prevent feathering – but honestly with any super pigmented lip product you need to do that. I haven’t done a review on this, but feel free to request it in the comments! Otherwise, you can see a photo of me wearing this on my IG account @StorybookBeauty.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder – $45 – This is a powder that, again, I was kind of worried about whether it would live up to it’s hype and I’m SO happy it actually did! I use this powder so much it’s ridiculous and I still haven’t even made a dent in the pan! It was quite pricey, but I would pay it any day all day. I’m actually looking to pick up the blush version for this because the formula is so brilliant. I can’t even explain how beautiful this will make your skin look. It just gives a softer focus glow to skin that makes everything, whether you’re wearing full coverage makeup or not, look that much better. I’ve been using this on film shoots and my skin looks AMAZING on camera, even on days when I’ve had breakouts or was dealing with redness. This stuff is HG makeup GOLD. I can’t recommend it enough, seriously. Hourglass products are expensive, yes, but so worth the money and they last ages. { See My Review Here! }

Hourglass No.28 Serum + Primer – $65 – This is a primer that I was super wary of trying, but I got it in a trial kit and it was just amazing. If you’ve read my past primer reviews, you might know about what a nightmare it’s been for me to even find a primer that I liked. I previously used the Korres Vitamin E Primer because it’s silicone free and was the only one that didn’t break my skin out. And this one, surprisingly, is not silicone free, but is doesn’t break me out like literally every other primer I’ve tried has (except Korres obv.). Instead, it really does smooth out your skin, prep beautiful for makeup, and treats skin with a ton of botanical ingredients to calm, soften, and hydrate it while you wear makeup. I’ve even used this to seal in nighttime skincare and it’s worked beautifully. { See My Review Here! }

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment – $22 – I’m actually surprised I haven’t reviewed this one yet because I’ve gone through like 3 of these Sugar Lip Treatments from Fresh Skincare. Anyhow, they are beautifully creamy, go on smooth, hydrate lips (even the driest of the dry lips!), smell delicious (like citrus), and they come in a variety of pretty colors of just plain un-tinted for those who just want the hydration. I love the aluminum packaging – it’s colorful and cute and is my go-to for keeping in my purse when I need lip care or just brightening up a bit.

Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup Foundation – $60 – When I first took the leap to try this foundation out, I was super worried that I would be let down and I’m so glad it proved me wrong! There are tons of great reviews for this foundation online and it seriously lives up to any and all expectations. It gives great coverage from light to full, it includes an SPF for those who want to do everything in one step, the formula doesn’t include toxic ingredients like parabens or synthetic fragrance or phthalates, it’s oil free and vegan, and it even includes some anti-aging ingredients to help protect and promote your best skin while you wear it! It gives a beautiful dewy to satin finish, depending on if you use a primer ( I use their No.28 Serum + Primer & I get a dewy finish, but without a primer, it’s more satiny), and it truly makes skin look beautiful and natural, no matter how full or light the application is. I can’t say enough good things about this foundation – it’s my holy grail for a full coverage, does-it-all, flawless foundation hands down. { See My Review Here! }

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette – $52 – This palette is just so versatile. It varies in shades that are all influenced by the theme of Rose Gold and go from a pale flesh cream color all the way to darker purple-browns. The eye shadows are matte, semi-matte and also shimmery depending on the color and I love that you can create so many different makeup looks with just the one palette. This palette truly shines with natural, everyday makeup looks, but you can easily layer up colors for deeper, darker eye looks whenever you want to. I use this palette all the time and it’s the only palette I keep out other than the Becca Balearic Palette (which I use pretty exclusively for my brows) because it can give me any makeup look I want pretty much. The shadows in this are long lasting, especially when you use a primer, and I love the handy dual-ended brush it came with. { See My Review + 3 Makeup Looks Here! }

Diorshow Extase Mascara – $28 – This is a mascara I discovered ages ago and it’s just been one of those products that is, yes, expensive, but so worth the money. The mascara wand is really unique in that it has sort of like wavy ridges up and down it so you really get this super dynamic, easily applied, lash look that thickens, texturizes, and gives amazing volume to lashes. The design of the wand makes application a no-brainer for someone as impatient as me and really helps separate all your lashes for a more thicker lash look without falsies. If you truly can’t afford this one, though, I’ve recently found a good drugstore dupe – HERE! { See My Review Here! }
