Let me preface this post by saying that I have many favorite products for dealing with sun damage, discoloration or otherwise lackluster skin issues, but these are my top picks. You know, desert island picks. These are the ones that I find myself reaching for over and over again to solve every problem in the book. With summer ending, I figured many people might be looking to find some skin solutions for potential sun damage that’s been present on their skin or is rearing it’s ugly head and so I hope these help you out!
5 Skin Treatments for Sun Damage
This is my favorite face mask EVER. I literally love this mask. If my skin breaks out, if it looks red, or if anything feels wrong about my skin, I will use this. It’s filled with natural herbal ingredients, activated charcoal, nutmeg, cinnamon, AND vitamin C which all help heal, calm and brighten skin. It’s amazing and works like a charm for me, though if you have really sensitive skin, I would say maybe do a patch test on your skin first.
I absolutely loovvveee this face mist! It smells incredible and feels amazing. It’s so refreshing and it’s one of those toners that’s filled with natural plant botanicals and marine extracts to help heal, soothe, and hydrate skin. And it really does make a difference. It doesn’t feel like it’s just sitting on your skin doing nothing. It truly has a great effect.
This serum is incredible for healing acne, wrinkles, pigmentation, and anything else you can think of! It’s amazing and it’s so easy to apply. Although it’s very expensive, it does last quite a long time. You only need about 5 drops of this, literally, and you press it into your skin in upward motions. Wake up the next day and BOOM. Your skin will look a million times better.
I know this is technically makeup, but really what it is is a face serum with pigment. There are organic plant extracts and oils infused with mica pigment to give your skin natural coverage that looks like a second skin. I love this stuff because I’d been searching for makeup with skincare benefits for years and this is it.
This in one of those really incredible face serums because unlike many serums, this one does not feel like a face oil. Instead, it’s more gel-like in texture and it includes a natural kind of vitamin A (retinol) in the form of fermented pumpkin enzymes which help to do so many amazing things for your skin. It helps fight acne, redness, dullness, and yes, discoloration. This is another serum where you’ll wake up and find you have glowing skin. It’s truly wonderful and worth the price so definitely give it a go if you deal with pigmentation or sun spots. This is one that makes a huge difference.
Overall, if you are looking for skin treatments to help heal sun damage or any discoloration, aging, etc. issues, you want to take a multi-pronged approach. There are many products out there that claim to help, but I prefer to stick with natural and organic formulas simply because they have none of the side effects that others will have and we’ve arrived at a day and age where many green beauty options work just as well if not better than mainstream ones. On top of that, they’re body safe, often more eco conscious, and help support local businesses. I could go on forever about why going green is better or how organic beauty can result in more youthful skin, but anyway, I’m sure by now you get the point.
