5 Fall Makeup Trends You Will Love!

The fall makeup trends coming off the runway this year are so fun! I really enjoyed some of the looks that designer brands came up with so I shared my 5 favorite trends here for you guys. I hope they inspire you to get out of your box this fall and try some new makeup styles!

Dark Eyeliner + Nude Lips

Dark eyeliner and nude lips is a beautiful modern take on grunge makeup from the 90’s. Since 90’s fashion trends are making a comeback, it’s not surprising this makeup trend would make an appearance as well! The trend focuses on a clear, flawless foundation base, light handed blush, heavy eyeliner, and bare or nude lips. I personally love how mod this look is. The heavily lined eyes give this look such an intensity which is beautiful in fall and winter.

The main product I used to get this look was the Lily Lolo Eye Pencil. It’s super creamy, pigmented, and easy to blend or smudge to get the desired finish! To keep the look youthful, make sure your brows are on the natural side. Fill them in if you tend to have thinner brows; it will prevent the eyeliner from aging you or looking too harsh. I also use a lifting mascara like this one from Studio 78 that helps separate and lift lashes without weighing them down to open up the eye. Lastly, I finish the look with this Autumn Lip Balm from Stewart and Claire to make sure my lips look soft and hydrated.

Bare Eyes + Deep Berry Lips

Bare eyes with deep berry lips is a beautiful modern spin of gothic makeup for the everyday, don’t you think? I love deep berry lip colors when fall hits and I think the pop of color paired with minimal eye makeup makes this good for both day and night. Since your eyes are going bare for this look, your foundation and concealer must be medium to full coverage! I used the Studio78 Face Primer, Foundation, and Concealer for this look. Together, they gave the overall effect of just enough coverage to still look natural, but really even and smooth out my skin which I LOVE!

I dusted on a light layer of Lily Lolo Pressed Blush in In the Pink for a little glow, but that’s it. I talked about how much I love this blush in a spring makeup post and it’s still going strong! Next, I used a tiny bit of mascara on my lashes to open them up and used one of my spring favorite lip colors called Let’s Get Married Liquid Lipstick from Studio 78. It’s the most beautiful deep berry color I’ve ever tried and lasts ages without making my lips look dry. I call that a win!

Red Bold Lips

Who doesn’t love bold red lips? They’re a classic when it comes to fall makeup looks! You can wear a red lip any time of the year, but there’s something special about rocking one during the fall and winter seasons. I love how anyone can wear a red lip and how it’s universally flattering.

For this look, I used the same smudged eye makeup look from the Slept-In look and simply added a classic red lipstick! The beauty of a red lip is that it goes with practically any kind of makeup. You could easily pair it with several of the makeup looks in this post. What I love about Lily Lolo lipsticks, in particular, is that they’re both incredibly pigmented and super creamy at the same time so your lips will have lots of beautiful color and say moisturized while you wear them. It’s an ingenious combination.

Fall Makeup Trends

Fresh Skin + Peach Cheeks

Fresh skin “barely there” makeup looks have been in for the past few seasons, but fall makeup trends are incorporating peach cheeks into the mix! It’s a surprising trend because peach cheeks normally get popular in the summer time. That said, I think keeping glowing skin around all year is a nice change of events!

To get this look, I simply load up on the Lily Lolo Pressed Blush! All of their colors are creamy and give a glow despite being in powder form. In the Pink is a beautiful pink blush that lends such a subtle color, but lots of glow to your skin. It feels like you’re wearing nothing, but has a beautiful effect on the cheeks. So, obviously, I’ve been obsessed with it since I first tried it back in spring 🙂

Slept-In Makeup

What is “slept-in” makeup, you ask? Essentially, slept-in makeup is makeup that looks like you slept in it! You can do this one of two ways. You can literally sleep in your makeup or you can opt for the more hygienic version by smudging your eye makeup and blotting your lip colors down to barely there stains. It’s actually quite pretty!

To get this look, all you need to do is apply whatever makeup you want to use and then smear, smudge and blot it all! All I did was apply eyeliner and a light layer of bronze eye shadows which I smeared with my finger to make it look a little more “lived in.” For my lips, I applied the most beautiful Lily Lolo Lip Color in Berry Crush and then I blotted it so it was almost removed for a subtle stain of color.

Bronze Smoky Eyes

I know a lot of people are in love with traditional smoky eye makeup, but I PROMISE YOU, the bronze smoky eye makeup is WAY BETTER! See Exhibit A below. It’s just so, so pretty and flattering on everyone! It feels more like a fall makeup look than using dark grey and charcoal colors and it’s a lot less harsh.

This was my favorite look of the bunch! I LOVE using bronze eye shadows to create a bright, but smoky eye makeup look and this combination of colors is SO BEAUTIFUL! Both the Studio 78 Eye Shadows and the Lily Lolo Pressed Eye Shadows are insanely pigmented, beautiful, and perfect for fall. They apply very creamy, have just the right amount of shimmer to them, and last ages and ages on the eyes (even my super oily eyelids). I also love how compact they are and that they all have mirrors attached. It’s so useful and travel-friendly!
